How to order Tea in Singapore

There are many customs if you are in travelling time in some country. Most likely, they have different way with yours. No excuse also it really happen when I stayed in Singapore. Yes…even in Singapore, the international country part of South East Asia. Most of people have communication in English, somehow Chinese language is sometimes still being used in their life community…even to foreigner like me :-)

For instance, if you get hungry and thirsty, then you are in part of common people in Singapore, you would prefer to go “HBC kiosk community” which really much cheaper than you found in big fancy restaurant. With money in your pocket at least 4 to 5 S$, you are able to take one package of main course meal and drinking. As usually, drinking kiosk is a “Toke”, big boss of all kiosks. Quite make sense, whatever kind of meal you take, you will always need a drink. This is really a problem if you are trying to order tea, you will need this local terminology.

· Teh O = Hot tea
· Teh O Peng = Tea with ice
· Teh = Tea with milk

How about if Toke is an Indian :

· Teh tarik = tea with milk

That’s all you need if you are trapped how to order a cup of tea in HBC kiosk community.

Can you now??
Sure ah sure ah…
Can lahhhh….
