Pile Monitoring – Returning
I have been waiting to get again involved with pile monitoring jobs for 5 years…finally I made it, getting back to my wave interpretation knowledge, join with some counter partner from fugro france. Working at some offshore area (close with Kuwait border) for pile installation in some jacket tripod – well, actually none of them are practically done now – when wrote this story hahaha
I am really interested to PDA as one of my geotechnical skill. It is related to wave interpretation from impact energy translates into kinematics energy. Sometime I need to fully understand what the ground condition type is, typical of damping value, pile behavior under dynamic impact, impedance factor, etc. It is really challenging me. It is match with my geotechnical meaning in first insight…“the only certainty is uncertainty” hahaha
Anyway in this specified mission, I am so pleasant to have other knowledge how to process data coming from PDA record, well firstly (but it is still) really pain the ass…fugro france engineer uses all manual processing in french language, really hard to understand…somehow it has to be understood at the end. Basically, they use those below spreadsheets to check or summarize actual data record, i.e.
- Quirep : for pile monitoring log – contains stress control in pile (avoid overstressing in pile) and hammer energy output. This may be helpful to control or improve pile installation method.
- Quinaman : for quality record check – contains recorded sensors and its proportionality ; and pile eccentricity accordingly.
Please don’t ask me what the meaning of those file name above..it was same question that I asked to them before. It was meaningless related with its function. For instance, quinaman is name of British cake hahahaha what a silly name…
Those monitoring record will then be reported together with CAPWAP analysis at the end. It is roughly same that produce from PDIPLOT, but some of output are specified to be presented.
Mmmm I think those results are pretty help me to check through all pile record, especially it summarizes all pile record into some graphs..Good thing to know..
===end of story===
